A great day with my little man

I was so fortunate yesterday to be able to spend the morning with Waylon for his preschool's Easter egg hunt and their Easter treat: attending a "private" viewing of Monsters vs. Aliens. We had a great time outside hunting eggs, and two little sweeties from his class, Ethan and Mackenzie, shared their eggs with Waylon, as he only had three and was slightly "distraught." :) It just melted my heart to see those kids being so kind.

Waylon and his "girlfriend," Mackenzie, decided they wanted to sit by each other for the movie. We waited in line together -- Mackenzie holding her mom, Lisa's, hand, and Waylon holding mine. Lisa began motioning for me to look down -- Mackenzie and Waylon were holding hands! Waylon looked up with a HUGE smile and said, "Mom! Mackenzie wants to hold my hand!" Oh, goodness. They're only 3 and 4... what will it be like in 10 or 15 years!? Of course, it was SO sweet and innocent. How could you not love it!?

It was wonderful to have those few hours with my little boy. We shared popcorn and enjoyed a movie. It was the kind of day that really made me wish I didn't have to be away from him every day for work. But, maybe being away makes me appreciate those things even more from time to time, too.
