Strangeness

We had the most unusual thing happen, and we honestly feel violated. Craig went out to do chores on Monday night, and as he went to water the animals, he noticed that the 200-foot hose running from our house to the pens was cut. Not just "slashed." Cut apart in 12 places.

Nothing was stolen. The animals were fine. But, someone was on our property, and they felt the need to do something minor in the grand scheme of things, but a major violation of our property and peace of mind. And we have no idea why.

Craig and I chatted quietly about the situation, and decided to call the police, just so there would be a record of the incident, in case something else happens to us our our neighbors. We thought we were being too quiet for Waylon to hear, but he caught the part about police.

"Is someone coming to take someone to jail?" he asked. I told him, "No, sweetie. They're just coming to make sure everything is okay. Isn't this fun!!"

My coworker, Tammy, says he'll probably call them now, because I said it's fun! HA!

I was most concerned about calling, because I know it will be in the paper, and it was probably on the scanner, too. "A 34-year-old male reported his garden hose was cut." I can see it now! Ah, small town life.

Anyhow, the policeman came and said it was odd. He said he would patrol extra around our house, just for our peace of mind. And, so far, nothing else has happened.

Luckily, Craig and I are able to find some humor in it, and know that as long as nothing else happens, it's really not that big of a deal.

But, if I see someone on our property, I think I'll just have to pull out some of my Turbokick moves. Yeah... that will scare 'em!
